At an instant in time, two ships A and B are separated by a distance of 15 km with ship B southeast of A. Ship A is travelling east at 30 km h 1 and ship B is travelling north at 50 km h 1 .

Determine (a) the velocity of B relative to A, (b) the closest distance between the two ships and (c) the time taken to reach this position.
