Question

A 20-year-old male student returns to the clinic reporting difficulty adjusting to life away from home. The client recently relocated to attend school and is having trouble falling and staying asleep. The client reports feeling lonely and "unmotivated" on a regular basis. The client's medical history includes acne, for which he took isotretinoin a year ago, and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection 6 months ago, from which he claims no lingering effects. The client has been taking alprazolam 1 mg by mouth (PO) at bedtime, but it does not seem to be helping his anxiety or sleep problems.
