Classification Systems: A Team Approach
In this unit, you are reviewing the DSM-IV classification system as part of the Mental, Behavioral and Neurodevelopment Disorder chapters of ICD-10-CM. For this discussion, you will continue your review of other clinical classifications systems utilized currently in the United States. The other classifications include, but are not limited to, SNOMED-CT, LOINC, CDT, DSM-IV-TR, SNODENT, ICD-0-3, and ICF.
For this Discussion Board, you will work as a team assigned by your professor. Each team has their own team discussion area and will be assigned one of the above classification systems to explore and compile information based on the provided parameters. Students will decide what each needs to contribute to the team's area to make sure the classification system is being fully discussed and explored.
After working in your team area come back to this main discussion. Each student will then make at least one contribution to another team's response regarding the classification system being reviewed. This Discussion Board will conclude by the each student providing their own short summary reflection on the team process experienced during Unit 8.
