Assessment Details
You are expected to write a thoroughly researched/analysed critical business report for Assignment 1 and Assignment 2 on the following.
You have been hired as a consultant for an automobile industry. You have been selected for this project due to your exceptional credentials. The CTO of the organization, which is to be chosen by you, has identified "Mobility-As-A-Service" (MaaS) idigital technology. As a technology which could have real commercial viability for their organization given the radical transformation happening in the automobile industry.
You need to research the trends and explain potential applications for the MaaS technology within the selected organization.
Requirements:
Prepare a briefing report for CTO which analyses:
1. MaaS digital technology.
2. Perform an integration or expansion cases for the technology to determine and justify how "Mobility-As-A-Service" (MaaS) digital technology could support the business and strategic objectives of your selected organization.
3. The rest of the areas to be covered are outlined in Assignment 1 and Assignment 2 respectively.
In this assessment item, there are two components (Assignment 1 and Assignment 2) which need to be submitted as a professional business report. Each report should be a complete document in its own right. These are to be submitted to the Chief Technology Officer of the major organisation that you have chosen for the assignment.
Assume the findings of your feasibility and modelling study on "Mobility-As-A-Service" (MaaS) suggest it presents huge potential as a digital innovation to improve business performance when efficiently adopted. As a result, the CTO, on behalf of senior management of your selected organization, has agreed to incorporate "Mobility-As-A- Service" (MaaS) digital technology into their organization but have tasked you to further investigate how MaaS aligns/support the organization.
Your role is to develop an understanding of the organisation (for example by reviewing the peer review research publications, corporate website, annual reports and/or other media articles) and prepare a digital innovation proposal. This is to be split across two documents.
For this assignment, you are allowed to select a particular organization to facilitate the requirements and scope of this assignment.
Assignment 1
In the first document, which is an "Initiative Concept" (Assignment 1), you will:
1. Identify the selected organization in the industry mentioned above and provide brief justifications.
2. Make any necessary assumptions with justifications about the organization selected by you.
3. Give an overview of automobile industry in the context of "Mobility-As-A- Service" (MaaS) digital technology and how it is currently being used.
4. Consider the existing technology landscape in your selected organization and provide, an outline with justification, for the objectives/goals of utilising MaaS.
5. Develop a problem statement and discuss the potential benefits of the "Mobility- As-A-Service" (MaaS) digital technology with justifications.
6. Provide/Discuss a roadmap through which the innovation of incorporating MaaS in your selected organization.
7. Provide a Recommendation & Conclusion with supporting arguments (half a page maximum).
Assignment 2
Following the assignment 1, the organisation wants to progress a larger initiative through to initial implementation and has asked you to do further work. They have requested that you deliver a second document in the form of assignment 2, and "Initiative Assessment" (Assignment 2) which contains:
• Background - Discuss the previous trial, the technology and initiative at a high level.
• Identify a potential Proof-of-Concept (PoC), or use case, the organisation can investigate. Include the scope for incorporating "Mobility-As-A-Service" (MaaS) digital technology. The following should be considered:
o What is the problem statement, that is what is the challenge to be solved using MaaS.
o What is in scope and out of scope for your MaaS Proof-of-Concept (remembering this is just an initial step, not a full implementation).
o The business processes that could be impacted.
o Outline the value proposition and benefits to be received.
o Identify what partners required for developing the PoC.
o Explain what the customer impacts are, including both negative and positive impacts.
o Provide an estimate of the costs for the PoC, including a high-level categorisation of the costs.
o Identify any potential risks that may arise.
• Review of the Company Strategy, and assessment of the Strategic Alignment of this initiative.
• Provide quality Recommendation & Conclusion with supporting arguments.
