ASSIGNMENT BRIEF

GROUP Project Report: 1000 words max 10 pages including all necessary drawings (make sure that you include key diagrams and detailed drawings within the main body). With font size of Ariel 11 point and appropriate margins and 1½ line spacing. Layout Format: Business Style - with contents pages and section headings etc.

• AutoCAD assembly file: Each group should submit the final AutoCAD file for the part assembly. This file should contain the drawing for each part but also the drawing for assembled part.
• GROUP Presentation Slides: Max 10 slides with max font size of Ariel 24 point for main headings and min font size of Ariel 16 point for main content. Layout Format: Business Style
- with main and section headings, combinations for necessary texts, diagrams, pictures, drawings and tables etc.

The Scenario
Your company specializes into Reverse Engineering works for mechanical systems. You are the design group for product development in this company and will be responsible for the AutoCAD design of a given part (the part name as listed in the table of next page) to satisfy the requirement from the company client. As your primary task is to make the necessary component drawings for manufacture, your group will need to prepare a short design report including an AutoCAD design explanation for your given part and the design of the structure and relevant drawings. Otherwise mentioned, all dimensions are in millimeters (mm).

Doing the Project
• Project Report: in your project, the following works should be included:
? Work Plan - Including a brief introduction to your part, your team management, task distribution, timing plan etc.
? Structure Design - Making simple drawings of your part structure and listing your system's all components and basic specifications.
? Component Drawings - All AutoCAD 2D and 3D drawings of required part. All group members must make necessary contributions for component drawings.
? Assembly Consideration - Planning the assembly of your part, have necessary assembly drawings relating components of your group.
