A circuit consists of five resistors with resistances R1 = 1 Ω, R2 = 2 Ω, a variable resistor, the resistance Rx = 3 Ω of which can be adjusted, and 5.0 volt battery connected as shown in the figure. When Rx is adjusted to 3 Ω, there is zero current Ia = 0 through the Ra = 1 Ω (a balanced condition). What is the resistance R3?
