Question

Childbirth can be a difficult and sometimes dangerous process. In the 1800s, 600 women per 100,000 births would not survive. Now the maternal mortality rate is 15 deaths per 100,000 births. What contributed to this drop in deaths during childbirth? With the technology and medical advancement available, why is it still a possibility that a woman could die during childbirth?
