A concerned mother just presented with her 2 year old child that had a seizure . The child has an upper respiratory infection. She had a rapid rise of temperature from 99.6 degrees Fahrenheit rectally to102.4 degrees Fahrenheit rectally and no history of seizures. The child had no metabolic abnormality and no central nervous system infection. You suspect a febrile seizure. How are you going to manage? refer to neurology order an EEG treat the underlying fever and reassure the mother start the child on dilantin.
