Part A: CASE ANALYSIS: 1500 WORDS Select a toddler or preschool aged child aged between 2-5yrs who has a pattern of normal development and observ the child in the context of their family. Include a genogram to provide a visual picture of the family. Observe the child in the context of the family and from your observation write a case description and analysis. Investigate the child's pattern of growth and development and perform a growth and development assessment using evidenced-based assessment tools (eg. child's personal health record, Parents Evaluation of Development Status (PEDS), relevant growth chats and body mass index (BMI). Discuss and interpret your observations and findings and compare them to normal growth and development parameters, as described in current literature. It is important to obtain parent consent and maintain patient confidentiality. In your written submission you must provide a script of what you said to the parent when asking for consent. PART B: ESSAY 1300WORDS Based on the Case Analysis you performed in Part A. You must: 1. compare and contrast two child developmental theorist (eg. Piaget, Erikson, Bronfenbrenners, Vygotsky) 2. use current evidence-based literature to discuss the philosophies and theories that underlie and explain toddler/preschooler developmental behaviours. 3.Discuss the importance of the parent-child relationship with a focus on parenting and parenting styles. 4.
