I appreciate the differentiation that you have provided between chief diversity officers and external consultants. Although their objectives of implementing and upholding the diversity, equity, and inclusion program for an organization, it seems as though their job characteristics are slightly different. They both provide value to a company, giving it a competitive advantage over other organizations within the market. Consumers and suppliers often tend to work with others whose values align with their own. Having a strong DEI program also allows for innovation, creativity, and organizational success, allowing for new ideas, employee satisfaction, and company decision-making improvement (Lauri, 2024). Overall, these consultants who allow for the security and success of DEI programs within an organization are an asset to the company, creating a company culture with boosted employee morale, retention, and improved corporate image.
