Question

Patient Profile 56-year-old male presents with chief complaint of severe dyspnea for the past two days. Medications Patient is currently taking hydrocholorthiazide, lisinopril, atorvastatin, levothyroxine, fluoxetine and OTC ibuprofen for general pain. Allergies No known drug allergies. History of Presenting Illness Patient describes a three-day history of nausea, vomiting, and non-bloody, loose diarrhea. He has had a fever for the past five days of 102°F. In the past few days, he began to experience shortness of breath. He is becoming more concerned as he is now breathing very rapidly and wheezing. He has also begun to develop a productive cough with small amounts of yellow-brown sputum. Patient denies hemoptysis. He has not travelled recently. Patient admits to past tobacco use with a ten pack-year history.
