Assignment Task: Find two household items that you use every day. These can be items such as toothpaste, makeup, powder, or lotion, or items such as light bulbs and electronics. Look through the ingredient list for any consumables (toothpaste, makeup, lotion, powder, etc.) and see if any minerals are listed. If not, take some time to look up any ingredients that you do not recognize and determine if they came from a mineral source. For example, fluoride comes from fluorite, silica is usually from quartz sand grains, and mica and iron oxides such as hematite are popular in makeup. Be careful that the ingredients you focus on are actually minerals (remember to refer to the definition of a mineral!)
