Question: You have been employed with the provincial government for many years as a Return-to-Work Coordinator. In the past few years, the incidence of mental health conditions impacting workers in your large division has doubled. The Disability Management department of which you are a part has been struggling with the exponential financial and human costs of these realities. In response, the department is creating a new position for a specialized Workplace Health Professional who can be available to provide mental health education to the department. This individual will have many responsibilities including consulting regarding 'stay at work' and 'return to work' plans and providing strategic education to the team regarding mental illness and workplace strategies. You have decided to apply for the position. One of the requirements of the competition is the completion of a thousand-word research report to demonstrate your abilities within these role expectations.
