Sexual harassment is a serious workplace issue. As a supervisor, you have a responsibility to ensure you establish a safe, non-discriminatory workplace where all employees have the opportunity to excel.

For this assessment, you will view a video depicting an example of sexual harassment in the workplace. After watching the video, you will respond to a series of questions to analyze how the manager in the video addressed the situation. Watch the first 6 minutes 30 seconds of Sexual Harassment Test (transcript).

  1. Based on your review of the chapter material on sexual harassment, describe what you saw in the video that you think would constitute sexual harassment.
  2. Analyze how the supervisor in the video handled the situation. What, if anything, did he do well in addressing the situation? What actions did he take that required improvement?
  3. Step into the role of the supervisor. When the female employee presented you with the complaint, how would you have addressed this issue?
