Question

TRPV1 channels are temperature sensitive ion channels highly expressed in nociceptor sensory neurons. If you transfected proprioceptive neurons in your finger such that they expressed TRPV1 channels in equal density to nociceptors and then blocked activity of nociceptors in your finger by applying an Nav1.8 channel antagonist (not important, but acts only on nociceptors), would you perceive a noxious heat stimulus (painful sensation of heat) when you flexed that finger? Why or why not? Would you perceive the sensation that your finger was being flexed if you exposed the transfected finger to high temperatures? Why or why not?
