Question

One significant effect of the changing economic environment in family medicine is the shift toward value-based care. This model emphasizes improving patient outcomes while reducing costs, requiring practices to focus on preventative care, chronic disease management, and patient-centered approaches. To create and manage care plans for complex patients using multiple modalities including virtual care, and to integrate specialty care in primary care by working as members of a joint team (Kurek et al., 2023). This shift places economic pressure on family practices to optimize resource allocation, embrace technology like electronic health records (EHR), and participation in alternative payment models such as Accountable Care Organizations (ACO). All of these are utilized within my primary care office and have been for several years. We consider this specific care model to be the best way to care for patients and therefore receive maximum reimbursement for the care provided. The leadership style that has been most effective in my family practice office is transformational leadership. This style inspires and motivates teams by fostering a shared vision, encouraging innovation, and empowering nurses to take ownership of their roles. Transformational leaders build trust, promote collaboration.
