Suppose Sona now has to vote between 2 candidates for the office of police commissioner. Currently only one policeman patrols Sona's neighborhood. Jon promises to provide 5 policeman to patrol in Sona's neighborhood and Rosanne promises to provide 3 policemen to patrol in Sona's neighborhood. But once elected the police commissioner has to deal with budget cuts and the mayor. Sona estimates that if Jon is elected Jon has a 40% chance of fulfilling his campaign promise but that she faces a 60% chance that the status quo (1 policeman) will continue. Sona estimates that if Rosanne is elected Rosanne has a 90% chance of fulfilling her campaign promise, but that there is a 10% chance the status quo will continue.
