A. What changes had to occur to water plants for them to be successful on land?

B. What changes had to occur to reptiles for them to be successful birds?

1. In paragraph one describe the two environments (water to air) or (walking on land to flying) and the challenges the new environment would bring to an organism.

2. Paragraph 2 should describe the changes that had to occur for an organism to become adapted to the second environment. (Example fish had to develop another respiratory strategy to live on dry land.)

3. In paragraph 3, choose one of those adaptations that an organism had to evolve to become successful in the second environment and describe intermediate changes that led to the successful organism. (Example fish need to develop lungs to become fully adapted to dry land, what were the steps that happened in going from water being pumped over gills to a lung and respiratory system that pulled air in and passed it to a lung.) Include in your answer how long each of these steps took to come about.
