The Journalist
Chris was a journalist who wrote a feature article about a nonprofit organization that had just moved into the community. After the story appeared in the paper, leaders within the organization presented Chris with a certificate of appreciation and a fountain pen worth $100.

The contract
In order to bid on a construction contract in Country X, it was customary to meet with Ministry officials. At the meeting it became known that a payment would be necessary in order to have the bid seriously considered. you made the payment (a small amount) submitted a bid, and won the contract. The deputy minister then called you to tell you who to arrange a 10 percent "fee" that was "due" to the Minister.
