Q4. For the project mentioned above, explain one (1) benefit of each of the risk response types.
Q5. The consultant has carried out the quality control inspection for the first course of a block-work wall in a construction project. He found that the wall of 6 meters height is inclined inwards by 10 mm. Explain the procedure of the cybernetic process to be used if the accepted verticality variation for the block wall is 1 mm/m.
Q6. We do not want to carry out gold-plating for the clients in our projects. We need to define exactly what will we do and then follow up to ensure nothing more and nothing less is being performed. Describe what these processes are called and explain them briefly.

a) Draw the network diagram for these activities.
b) Carry out the forward and backward passes, indicating all critical paths.
c) Crash the project by making the D & F crashed durations 2 & 1 respectively.
d) Explain what happens to the project cost and the duration due to crashing process.

Q12. Four Squares Construction Company is working on five (5) multistory building towers in Al Hail city as Phase 1 of a commercial district consisting of five (5) phases. Create a risk register for this project including the risk matrix and the risk response type for each of the risks mentioned below. Explanation must be provided for each choice made.
a) Lease cancellation (by tenants) due to economic recession caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
b) Shipment delays due to extra rules and regulations for foreign subcontractors.
c) Salary payment issues due to government guidelines forcing site manpower to be reduced to 50%. The company cannot pay all the employees while only 50% are working on the site.
d) Sponsor may hold the project until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
e) Ambiguity around the situation in Italy which supplies marble to be used in the project.
Q13. There are four (4) items which can be used in each of the following situations. The items are mentioned below the situation. Describe the effects on the projects of using each of the four (4) items and mention the most suitable one.

Q14. As a planning engineer you were too busy to visit the construction site of a multi-story residential-commercial building, so you asked the site foreman about site progress through a phone call. Referring to the extracts from the BOQ (Table 4), determine how much the construction of superstructure columns is complete using the most appropriate method. Historical data is provided in Table 5.
