Do you agree with his characterization of the Celanese and the ITIL path? Why? Why not? repharse the answer and add my point of view
In the characterization of the Celanese and ITIL path, the CIO believed that there were multiple paths toward the ultimate goal - to have both process discipline as advocated by the ITIL proponents, as well as performance or proving high quality service at a competitive cost.
This can be likened to the adaption of the continual service improvement (CSI). There is a wide variety of methods and techniques that can be employed, ranging from "soft and vague' to "factual and scientific', leading to either both or a mixture of qualitative and quantitative measurement results.
A considerable amount of effort and money is also required in CSI improvement activities especially for larger-scale projects to minimal time and effort for incremental improvements. The cost entailed is for labor, tooling, training, and payments for hiring experts or consultants.
Additional cost should also be considered when considering the use of measurement framework. The amount will be paid for implementation, operations and maintenance.
The CSI will guide the organization in aligning its IT services to the changing business by identifying and implementing improvements to It services and support business process. And to ensure of a high quality service, effort is very costly. Hence, both IT and the business should evaluate if everything is worth it and if it is, discipline must be observed in its adaption to ensure
