Project Task 1

Systems implementation is defined as how the information system will be built, ensuring that the system will be operational and useful, and complying with quality standards. Most of the tasks that are taking place during systems implementation are programming, testing, installation, documentation and training. The aim of systems implementation is to transform the system design into a functioning and dependable system and introduce it to everyday use. At this stage, any faults or exclusions from the analysis and design phases show themselves.

There are four common methods to implement a system and these are parallel, phased, pilot and direct. Suppose you are the IT consultant for an organisation with branches located in strategic cities of the Sultanate of Oman. As a consultant, you keep track of everything about each branch, specifically their system implementation. Which system implementation method will you recommend? Write a report about your observations, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.

Your report for task 1 should follow the following format and content:
I. Introduction - ?In this section, discuss the purpose of system implementation methods. You then identify any three of the modern system implementation methods used in businesses nowadays, explain each and how it helps IT managers achieve business goals and objectives. ?
II. Comparison - Compare and contrast the two system implementation methods you identified in Section 1. You may present your comparison in any format you think would best demonstrate their similarities and differences. Also, for each system implementation methods indicate whether or not it is customisable.

III. Conclusion and Recommendations - Conclude your comparison by recommending the best System implementation methods for your IT manager to apply in his/her business organisation and clearly justify your recommendation. Also, discuss in this section ways on how to customise your chosen System implementation methods to fit in the requirements of your IT business organisation. If the System implementation methods of your choice are not customisable, state whether you agree or disagree on this lack of feature and explain why you agree or disagree.

This task involves choosing an emerging information system (IS) tool for detailed analysis. You need to write a thorough review of related literature and related systems for your chosen IS tool. You can relate your experience also in using an application related to your

• Introduce your research method and explain why you think this is appropriate for the given task;
• Collect the data needed to meet the requirements of this assignment. Discuss thoroughly your method of data collection.
o If you use the survey method:

• Design your survey questionnaire on the Survey Monkey or Google Forms. Make sure that the questions you formulate are direct to the point and will give you the expected outcome of your study. Indicate also the purpose of the study at the header of your questionnaire and provide the link of your designed questionnaire in your assignment report.
• Have your questionnaire approved by your module tutor first before you distribute it to respondents to ensure that the questionnaire is in accordance with ethical standards.
• Present your analysis of the data in the report. You may include graphs and calculations of your collected data.
• Present your interpretation of the results (of your analysis) in the report. Your report should have the following parts:

1. Introduction

Write a general introduction about your chosen topic as well as a short discussion about analysis systems, with at least 100 words. Include in this section the objectives of your research.

2. Literature review

A literature review is an evaluative report of information based on printed and/or online sources. The review should contain description, summary, evaluation and comparison of the study with previous researches. It should give a strong theoretical comparison of your research and help you (the author) determine the importance of your study. Researches that are irrelevant to this study must be discarded and those significant to the study should be critically reviewed. Include at least five in-text citations here.

3. Research Method and Design

Introduce and justify your research method in this section. Clearly illustrate and explain your research design. If you use the survey method, provide a rationale of the questions you formulated and explain how these questions would help you achieve the objectives of your research.

4. Presentation of Data -In this section, introduce and discuss each data that you collected. You may present each in tabular form or in graphical form.

5. Interpretation of Results -Analysis of the collected data is very essential as it is the core of your study. The results must be interpreted well and discussions must also be included. You may also write your own recommendation based on the results.

6. Conclusion -The conclusion must be drawn from the results of your research and its interpretations. You may add a short summary of your chosen topic in particular. Recommendations for further improvement of your chosen topic may also be included.

7. Reference List You should follow the Harvard Style of referencing. Provide at least 10 references from various sources. Citations must also be present in the different sections of the report.

8. Presentation -You are required to provide7-10 minutes of a formal presentation of the report and explain the completed tasks in one of our class sessions (beginning at week 12).
