Epidemiological Scenario:

A group of 200 individuals living in a small town have been exposed to a new viral infection that causes severe respiratory illness. Out of 200 individuals, 40 have been diagnosed with the disease over a period of 10 days.

Attack rate (AR) is an incidence measure that is calculated for a specific population during an outbreak. AR is the proportion of individuals who develop the disease among those who were exposed to the pathogen. The formula to calculate AR is:
