"Road accidents are ranked as the 11th leading cause of death globally. The road traffic fatalities are second only to cardiovascular disease in the list of major causes of death. About 90% of the disability-adjusted life years lost worldwide due to road traffic injuries occur in developing countries. In recent years, high rates of serious RTAs have been reported in several Arabian Gulf countries, including the UAE (United Arab Emirates). Due to the poor transportation infrastructure system and low enforcement levels of traffic laws. UAE has experienced a rapid economic growth resulting in an enormous increase in the motorization rate (vehicle per 1000 population) associated with rapidly expanding road construction. As a result, traffic accidents have become a serious problem facing the country."
