Element 2
Task 1:
a & b) Using information provided in handout i.e. "Analysis of Toyota Motor Corporation" and other sources that you have researched, conduct a PESTEL analysis (bullet-point format will be acceptable) and briefly discuss which factors you believe to be most influential in driving Toyota's strategic direction.
Task 2
a) Using information provided in the handout i.e. "Analysis of Toyota Motor Corporation" and other sources that you have researched, write-up a SWOT analysis for the company. Additionally, using the information provided in the 'Porters Five Forces' analysis of the automotive industry, briefly provide your perspective about the competitiveness within the automotive industry and how well Toyota is positioned to successfully compete.
b) i) Provide a brief description of joint ventures and what some of the reasons may be for forming a joint venture and identify any joint ventures that Toyota may be or have been involved in (refer "Analysis of Toyota Corporation" or other sources).
ii) Briefly describe the principles of a 'cost benefit analysis'.
iii) Briefly describe the principles of 'due diligence' and the elements that it is likely to cover.
Element 3
Task 1: From the information assembled in Element 1 and Element 2 above, develop a list of priority issues for Toyota
Task 2: From the list of priority issues in Task 1, develop a list of strategic objectives for Toyota.
Element 4
Task 1: Briefly discuss the key factors associated with communication/distribution of the strategic plan within the organisation
Task 2: Briefly discuss the role of Key Performance Indicators in the monitoring and evaluation process
Task 3: Refer to the key steps in the strategic planning process and identify any process changes/improvements that you would recommend and why you are making such recommendations.
