Case - Seven-Eleven Japan Co.

Question 1. A convenience store chain attempts to be responsive and provide customers what they need, when they need it, where they need it. What are some different ways that a convenience store supply chain can be responsive? What are some risks in each case?

Question 2. Seven-Eleven's supply chain strategy in Japan can be described as attempting to micro-match supply and demand using rapid replenishment. What are some risks associated with this choice?

Question 3. What has Seven-Eleven done in its choice of facility location, inventory management, transportation, and information infrastructure to develop capabilities that support its supply chain strategy in Japan?

Question 4. Seven-Eleven does not allow direct store delivery in Japan with all products flowing through its distribution center. What benefit does Seven-Eleven derive from this policy? When is direct store delivery more appropriate?

1-we are currently following this textbook for our operation management course (. Heizer/Render/Griffin: Operations Management: Sustainability and Supply Chain Management, 3rd Canadian Edition) and we are currently done with chapters-1,2,6,6s,7s,10,11,11s,12,13,16 the reason I am mentioning this is because I not only want you guys to answer all the questions in the case study but also relate them to the CONCEPTS OF OPERATION MANAGEMENT from the chapters that were taught in the class from the book.
