• Understand the typical level of activity for each process group and the interactions between them.
• Understand the elements that make good project scope management important.
• Discuss the scope definition process and create a work breakdown structure (WBS).
• Understand the importance of scope verification, and change control to avoid scope creep.

• Does he ask the right questions?
• What do the respondents to Garrett's blog say?
• What can we learn from the ideas of these professionals?
Question 4.5 - Scope Statement
Read the case study Dog Shelter App (provided at the end of this document) and develop a project scope statement. Search the Internet for further ideas to improve your scope statement. For example, some scope statements include a list of key milestones, or acceptance criteria. A scope statement template is provided. Use this as a starting point.
Question 4.6 - WBS
Read the case study Dog Shelter App and develop a work breakdown structure, in tabular form. Corporate guides for creating project WBS's are to use the five project management process groups as level 1 headings. Each process group must have at least one major deliverable and break down the work to the third level for at least one of the items.
