Canada Chemicals Ltd. is a large wholesaler of industrial chemicals in OntarioIt handles swimming pool supplies, industrial solvents, fertilizer, and special lubricants. On average, there are 50-75 plant employees. Employees work on an assembly line to complete each order. The warehouse operations health and safety is cause for concern. Their accident and time-ott rates are much higher than industry standards The plant manager, George McKenney, has said uurwerous times that he take any gut the employees and that the best way to keep them in line is to run things with an iron hand. He has been with the company a long time, well before some of the health and safety regulation came into place and believes that much of these safety standards are the results of a bunch of complainers influencing the politicians. His mid set is it ain't brokedon't fix it When the plant employees are hired all they receive minimum wage, although organizations in the area offer minimum wage they also provide some benefits for employees who pass their probation. Second employees don't feel like anyone listens to them. There is a feeling that George has favourites and lets some employees get away with everything while he comes down hard on others.
