Practical Assessment: The Case Study

Topic: Writing a case study about the Snap Inc.(snapchat), an American technology and social media company, which is a relatively new and innovative business venture.

- Word limitation: 1400_1500 words (not including references, diagrams, tables, any appendices, etc)

- References: 15 academic journals (American Psychological Association (APA))

- Purpose: Building students' research, entrepreneurial skills, business evaluation and critical thinking. You are encouraged to search and learn about different business models, containing the type of business models that are most associated with success and high levels of profitability.

The case study should embrace the subsequent information: (you should mention each of these areas as a Heading or Sub-heading for your assessment).

1) The business context and background:

(including the industry, location, size of the business, customer segments, market conditions, competitors, demand conditions, founders' background, etc)

2) Comprehensive description of the business:
(containing the product(s) or/and service(s) that the business makes available to customers and its business model (Canvas Business Model).

Sub-headings:

1) the problem solved by the product/service(s)
2) the benefits of the innovation and proposed business model
3) outline of the initial strategy for establishing and/or growing the business

3) Your evaluation of the strategy and future prospects of the organisation:
(students can apply SWOT analysis, PEST, ratio or other analytical techniques to derive and justify their evaluation).
The strategy is explained with insight and it is evaluated making clear what the student
believes are the organisation's prospects for success in the future; any recommendations the student believes the management should take up for the future are clearly articulated and justified

4) Summary of the key points:
(containing a discussion of the one aspect of the business model you think is the most important for the management of the organisation to keep in mind to ensure the ongoing success of the organisation).

These arguments are well-structured and convincingly articulated, while acknowledging and/or integrating the relevant theories well.
