Thomson Holidays

Thomson Holidays call centre was set up at Cardonald Business Park in1999 with help from Scottish Enterprise.  It received a government grant - Regional Selective Assistance - worth £1.4 million when it opened.

In December 2006 Thomson #holidays closed its Glasgow call centre with the loss of 450 jobs.  More people are now choosing to book online rather than by phone. Since the centre opened in 1999, the company's' internet bookings had increased from 10 per cent to 50 per cent.
