Case Scenario:

Client: Maria 15 yo Caucasian Female

This client is a 15 y.o Caucasian female that lives with her adoptive mother on Monday-Wednesday and every other weekend in Revere. The client lives with her adoptive father Thursday, Friday and every other weekend in Revere. The client has an adoptive sister (adopted from another family) who is 14 y.o. The sister is very social and has a lot of friends.

The client was adopted when she was a year old and had supervised visitation with her biological mother until she was 3. The biological mother did not want to continue to see the client after that age. The adoptive mother and father both have a history of Alcohol abuse and Domestic Violence. They divorced 5 years ago. The parents both have legal and physical guardianship of the client and the sister. The parents have described that they do not get along and have different views on parenting and discipline.

The client was born with fetal alcohol syndrome, has attachment issues, and does not have a peer or social network. The Ct has been recently using marijuana, has shown signs of depression, gets angry quickly, and is known to act physically and verbally aggressive towards others when she is angry. All family members describe having a poor relationship with the client, though the parents describe a good relationship with the 14 y.o sister. The client's school is concerned that the client has not been turning in homework and she has been asking to go to the nurse's office almost daily. The mother states she does not know what to do to help her daughter (the client) and the father states his daughter will grow out of it.

The client likes to play soccer and is good at drawing. The sister enjoys riding her bike, likes softball and hanging out with her friends in the park. The father has a job in a restaurant and coaches little league softball. The mother is not employed right now, but has a history of working in accounting and wants to have a better relationship with her daughter.
