It discusses how the initial sessions is to determine if the person is appropriate for services. Depending on the location it my be an in-patient treatment, outpatient, or partial. There are different levels and types of treatment. The informed consent is part of the documentation needed for ethical reasons and to ensure the client understands their rights as well. The biopsychosocial and clinical assessments are needed to obtain the most information for the proper diagnosis. Then the treatment plan is built with the client. The goals are objectives are to be discussed and are to be measurable. Documentation is needed throughout the process and updating the treatment plan. The client is needed for the creation of the treatment plan because they are in to be in agreement of the process. If they are not included in this process it will make it difficult for them to know what they are doing and working on. The client is part of guiding the priorities in the treatment approach (2024). There can be multiple issues and they need to decide what they want to address first. The therapist support the client by using intervention and the measurement of the data collected for the goals made.
