Carnot engine works between two heat reservoirs

As we will see soon in lecture, the Carnot engine sets an upper limit on the efficiency of any real engine. The efficiency C = Weng/Qh of a Carnot engine working between two heat reservoirs at temperatures (in Kelvin!) Th and Tc may be written entirely in terms of these temperatures. We shall show later that it is given by C = 1 - Tc /Th

Suppose a Carnot engine works between two heat reservoirs at temperatures Th = 315 K and Tc = 87 K.

(a) What is its efficiency?

(b) If it absorbs 86 J from the hot reservoir during each cycle, how much work (in J) does it do?

(c) How much heat (in J) does it give off in each cycle?
