I'm analyzing a research article titled ' application and evaluation of a caring code in clinical nursing education' where the purpose of the study is to determine if a 'caring code' (a specific teaching modality that teaches caring to students) has an effect on the students caring behaviors. Nursing students are randomly selected and some are taught using the caring code and the others are not. My question is this, what are all the necessary variable that should be included in the study and why? I identified the independent, dependent, and demographic variables...are there more variables to consider for the study to be valid?
