Dr. Davis and Classmates, If I were given the opportunity to hire someone to report to me, I would take time to reflect on my current position in my career and leadership development. One important lesson I've learned is that leadership is a continuous process of evolution and growth. Being honest about my own strengths and weaknesses can be challenging, as personal growth often requires facing difficult truths. As a strong servant leader, I enjoy collaborating with my teammates. However, I recognize that I must step away from direct bedside care in order to be more resourceful for my team. In my search for a new team member, I would prioritize finding someone who is more articulate and technologically savvy than I am, as I've fallen behind in computer charting and the impact of technology in the workplace. I would seek someone who is a strong advocate for their teammates and understands the perspective of leadership. It's essential to drive the team forward and recognize the qualities of each individual that should be highlighted and nurtured. Without the team and our collective effort to fulfill the organization's vision, we achieve nothing.
