a) A rat is fed stearic acid that is radioactively labeled with [14C]. A liver biopsy reveals the presence of 14C-labeled glycogen (don't worry, it died of natural causes). Explain how this was possible

b) After a day of not eating, when our liver glycogen supply is depleted, can the liver convert fats into carbohydrates and replenish our glycogen supply? Clearly explain your reasoning.
