Question: Last year in Saskatchewan, 52.6% of first-time home buyers purchased row/townhouse-type homes, 30.1% of first-time home buyers purchased semi-detatched-type homes, and 17.3% of first-time homebuyers purchased detached-type homes. In an attempt to empower first-time home buyers, the provincial government implemented a number of new policies. To see whether these policy changes are having an impact, a random sample of first-time home buyers was taken from all first-time home buyers since the policy changes were implemented. The purchased dwelling type was recorded for these first-time home buyers. The results are shown in part b. below. Can we conclude that the policy changes implemented by the Saskatchewan government have changed the distribution of the types of dwellings purchased by new home buyers?
