Assignment:

On The Mark is a delivery service with 75 drivers. They are currently not unionized. The drivers haven't been offered an increase in a year, and previously their salaries only increased by a cost-of-living adjustment. The owners have reduced their health benefits and increased the co-pay that employees need to pay. They have been approached by a union who has told them that they can get them a better compensation package. They are torn as they really like their employer. The union has promised them a 25% increase if they join the union and support a strike against the employer. The union has also told the drivers that anyone who doesn't join will not be able to participate in the benefits that will be forthcoming. Can the union deliver on their promise to the employees? Explain why or why not and comment on the union's actions? What can the employer do to engage with the employees and make their case that the employees shouldn't join a union?
