October 16th marks the celebration of World Food Day. It was established in 1979 to honor the founding date of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in 1945. Today it is observed around the world by more than 150 countries, raising awareness to issues that cause hunger and poverty. Each year in order to highlight areas for focus and improvement, World Food Day adopts a different theme. This year the theme is ‘Climate is changing, food and agriculture must too.' The global goal for defeating hunger is 2030; it is a goal that cannot be reached without addressing the issue of climate change.
The Zero Hunger Challenge: Can we create a world where no one is hungry? Discuss the solutions of world hunger.
