Uncle Ralph was Phil's favorite uncle and they were very close. Uncle Ralph wanted Phil to have his prize antique gun worth $2,000. He wrote the following on a piece of paper, "I, Ralph Jones, gift to my nephew, Phil Jones, my Springfield model 1884 Trapdoor rifle." Ralph and Phil both signed the document. Ralph had the gun secured in a safe at another location and was going to retrieve it and have Phil pick it up the next day. Tragically, Uncle Ralph passed away that evening.


Can Phil enforce the contract and get the gun from the Executor of Ralph's estate? Is there anything Phil could have done with the contract to make his position stronger. Provide legal justifications for your answer.
