1) On March 20, 2021, Janice borrowed P 1, 000, 000.00 from Jairus which Janice used to buy a house in Mandaue City. The debt is payable in two equal installments. The first installment shall be payable on June 25, 2025 for P 500, 000.00 while the second installment shall be payable on December 20, 2025 for the remaining P 500, 000.00. On January 1, 2024, Janice won a lottery for P 500, 000.00. She then thought to use her winnings to pay her indebtedness to Jairus. On the next day, she delivered P 500, 000.00 to Jairus as payment for the first installment but Jairus refused to receive the amount. Can Jairus legally refuse to accept the said payment? Why?

2. Karlo obligates himself to provide support to John until John passes the accountancy board exams. Is the obligation of Karlo conditional or one with a period? Why?

3. On March 1, 2021, Jane loaned from Joan the amount of P 500, 000.00 to be paid on December 20, 2025. To secure this debt, Jane mortgaged her car in favor of Joan. On March 20, 2021 the car was struck by lightning causing it to burn and become totally damaged. On March 21, 2021, Joan demanded payment from Jane for the amount of loan. Can Joan legally demand payment on March 21, 2021?

4) Clark obliges himself to give his only watch to Claud if Claud's father, who was admitted in Chong Hua Hospital since 2021, dies in the said hospital of leukemia. Is the obligation of Clark conditional or one with a period? Explain your answer.

5) Mario contracted with an obligation with Maria for Mario to give Maria his only pick-up truck on December 25, 2022. Before December 25, 2022, specifically on December 10, 2022, Maria noticed that Mario began packing up his personal things and appeared to be in a hurry. Maria then knew that Mario bought an airplane ticket to Africa that same day. Without a word to Maria, Mario then left for Africa appearing to be in hurry. May Maria consider Mario's obligation demandable at once without waiting for the arrival of December 25, 2022? Why?
