5.Can a private investigator, representing  an insurance company, be denied access to a policy holders home after a fire?  If so, what is the insurance companies recourse?

What can the insurance company do?  I live in a house that is insured against fire damage.  My home needs a lot of work.  It needs upgraded plumbing, upgraded wiring, new windows, it has a cracked foundation and the kitchen is just out dated. Money is a little tight right now but I really want the work done.  So, one night I decide to set fire to my home and collect the insurance money to make all the corrections that I want.

The fire department responds to my house and put the fire out.  There is significant damage.  The fire department conducts an investigation and concludes that it was an electrical fire.  The insurance adjuster at the scene, after hearing the fire department conclusion fronts me a check for $15,000 to get back on my feet.

Three days later the insurance company investigator arrives at my house to conduct an investigation.  I tell the investigator "I'm all set".  I've already started cleaning up, and the investigator is only going to get in my way and delay my work.  I refuse to let the investigator into my home.Do I get my money?  Did I get away with the perfect crime?  Is there anything the insurance company do?
