Case 1 Cameron is a 22-year-old male who presents to clinic with fever, GI upset, cough, and body aches for the past 5 days. Patient states they attend a local college and there has been an outbreak of flu in the past few weeks. Chief Complaint: "My entire body hurts." Past Medical History: Depression, ADHD, Seasonal allergies Social History: occasional drinker when out with friends, denies smoking or illicit drug use, exercises a few days a week Allergies: Penicillin (Rash), Sulfonamide (Hives) Vitals: Temperature-100.8 F Blood pressure-128/ 75 mmHg Heart rate-85 bpm Oxygen Saturation-97% Medications:
• Claritin PRN for seasonal allergies
• Adderall XR 15 mg by mouth QAM
• Lexapro 20 mg daily by mouth Rapid test comes back positive for Influenza A. The doctor would like to place Cameron on a medication that will help with the body pain and the fever.
