Question

By now you should know that money is one of the best examples of a stimulus that can serve as a conditioned reinforcer. Money's value is learned; it means nothing to a six-month old! Often times, the example is given that if you did not get paid, you would probably stop working. For the most part, that's probably true, but certainly there are reinforcers that you get from work other than money. Tell us about your current or past work experience with regard to reinforcers (other than money) that kept you in the job. Was positive and/or negative reinforcement involved? What about conditioned reinforcers? Primary reinforcers? A combination of the above? This is part of what we call natural contingencies of reinforcement, they refer to conditions in everyday life that maintain and change our behavior.
