Q1) Simple random sample of size n is drawn from population whose population standard deviation, σ, is known to be 3.8. Sample mean,  is determined to be 59.2.

i) Calculate the 90% confidence interval about μ if sample size, n, is 55. How does increasing sample size affect margin of error, E?

ii) Simple random sample of size n is drawn from population which is normally distributed. Sample mean,  12X'>  , is 50 and sample standard deviation, s, is 8. Create a 98% confidence interval about m if sample size, n, is 20.

iii) Study of 74 patients with ulcers was conducted in which they were prescribed 40 mg of Pepcid TM. After 8 weeks, 58 reported ulcers healing.

iv) Get a point estimate for proportion of patients with ulcers receiving Pepcid who will report ulcer healing.
