You have a piston inside a cylinder. Inside the cylinder is an ideal gas (whose volumetric equation of state is ) at an initial pressure of 8 bars. The initial volume of the cylinder is 1 L (10^-3 m^3). The cylinder and the gas are in a constant temperature bath of 300K.

a) The gas is expanded slowly to a volume of 2 L against an external force pushing inward on the piston. Define your system to be the gas in the cylinder, and calculate the work transferred from the surroundings to the system from this expansion. Note that the pressure will change as the expansion takes place.
