Steam at 2.5 MPa and 400 C enters an adiabatic steam turbine with a low velocity and leaves with a velocity of 180 m/s at a pressure of 15 kPa and a quality of 90 percent. Assume steady state for the current problem state. Neglect potential energy. a) Write down the generalized mass and energy conservation equations and simplify them for current problem, b)Calculate the work in kJ/kg done per unit mass of the steam flowing through the turbine.c) If the steady state power output of turbine is 5 MW, calculate the mass flow rate in kg/s of the steam.
