Programming Question -
You have been given the enclosed datasets. Each dataset has data for one region, and all have the same set of variables. You have been requested to run an OLS with the following specification for the entire country:
ln(welfare) = α + r=1ΣRθr(regionr) + φ(hsize) + β(hhdepend) + ω(assetbycicle) + ε
where the dependent variable is the natural log of welfare, and the right-hand side variables correspond to the variables with those names in the data. Note that the omitted region in the equation should be Central Uganda. You need to provide all relevant estimates, ie coefficients, standard errors, R2, and root mean squared error. The rules of the exercise are as follows:
1. You cannot load more than one of the regions into your computer at the same time. That is, at no point of the exercise you should have more than 4,300 rows or columns.
2. You can perform the exercise in the software of your choice, but you need to provide the scripts (annotated scripts are most welcome).
3. Calculate the weighted national average welfare.
4. Finally, summarize all the results (OLS with all the estimated parameters and the weighted national average welfare) in a nicely formatted table, and include it in a power point.
Note - This is a programming assignment. Please help me in doing the regression estimation keeping in mind the rules the document has. Need to be solved by using Stata.
