A screen is placed R = 10m away from a 2-slit setup. The separation between the slits is d = 0.1mm, and their widths are much smaller than their separation. A laser beam is incident on the plate from the left, as shown. The third bright spot appears at point P located 180 mm above the central fringe. The intensity of the central peak with both slits uncovered is I = 4 W/m2

a) Calculate the wavelength of the laser.

b) Find the distance between the first dark line and the center bright line.

c) Find the intensity of the light 30 mm above the central bright line

A new slit is cut half way between the two original slits.

d) With all three slits uncovered, What is the intensity of the central maximum? How far from the central maximum is the first major peak located?
