Upon bombarding the sample the electron “kick out†photons with specific wavelength. Suppose the energy is conserved during the process, i.e., the electrons kinetic energy is completely absorbed by the emitted photon. Calculate the wavelength of the emitted photon. Look up the photon wavelength in an EM spectra chart and find which spectrum range this photon belongs to, e.g. visible lights, ultra-violet, etc.?

2. In an electronic device, the current conducting electron has an effective mass of 0.26m0, with m0 being the still mass of an electron. Suppose the electron has an observed velocity of 5ï‚´107 cm/s. Using Heisenberg Principle, estimate the uncertainty of the displacement (location) of the electron.

3. Calculate the first 3 energy levels of an electron trapped in a 10Ã...-wide infinite well. Express the energy levels in eV.
